mauvaises herbes

The city dictates where things should be put and done: the sidewalks are for walking, the streets to drive, the flower beds are to let grow, in a restricted and controlled way, some plants. In a burst of empathy towards these denatured natural spaces, we wanted to occupy them, treat them as true nature. This interaction brought out a resemblance between us and the vegetation: the same constraint was imposed on us without our having wanted it or realized it, that of the systematic organization of the city. These photos are documents of a breaking, bordering on provocation, of these standards that we rejected the instant of a photographic proof.
